This poster is inspired by the long-standing knitting tradition in the Faroe Islands. Over time, traditional patterns have emerged and remain popular today. One of these patterns is represented in this poster. Intertwined in the pattern are the words “gomul minnir” (meaning “old memories”), the title of a song often sung at Faroese gatherings. Coincidentally, my great-uncle wrote this song, giving me a closer connection to its words and meaning.
